Alex Honnold’s Birthday Challenge: 16 Hours of Soloing

On his 29th birthday that took place on August 17, free soloing wizard, Alex Honnold took to Squamish, British Columbia to take on a grueling 16-hour climbing challenge—because hey, who doesn’t like to suffer a lot on their birthday? To spice up this special day, Alex elected to take on the task of climbing a whopping 290 pitches across the course of a single day.
