On October 21, 2017, Brad Gobright and Jim Reynolds broke the speed record on El Capitan’s The Nose route (formerly held by Alex Honnold and Hans Florine) by climbing its 3000 feet of granite in a jaw-droppingly fast time of 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 44 seconds.
