As the first female to climb a V13 boulder problem, crusher Angie Payne —a Cincinnati, OH native now living in Boulder, CO— has experienced far more than just climbing throughout her life … While building her career as a professional climber, Angie has held also held jobs as a veterinary assistant and an endoscopy tech (think: colonoscopy!) along the way. Get her insight into the crossover (or lack thereof) between climbing and getting a job.

A lot of climbers have very many skills … that a lot of people don’t get to acquire … they have really good exposure to different types of people, different places, tons of problem solving.
