This week we take a step back from featuring 5.15 ascents or epic drone footage to instead focus on a community event that supports climbing access and preservation of one the most treasured destinations to climbers and non-climbers alike: Yosemite National Park.

The Yosemite Facelift—the largest organized volunteer cleanup of any national park—was started by Ken Yager, President of the Yosemite Climbing Association in 2004, and functions in collaboration with the National Park Service. This past year, this summer event saw over 1,470 volunteers who collected over 12,000 pounds of waste from the park.

This Friday Flick Pick follows Black Diamond athletes and employees, including Nina Williams, on some of the Valley’s clean up efforts and discusses the vital role of stewardship for the places we love.
