Jon Glassberg’s latest climbing film showcases Heather Weidner’s physical and mental journey to achieve the first female ascent of China Doll—a 5.14- R trad line in Upper Dream Canyon, outside of Boulder, Colorado. With this climb, Heather becomes the fourth woman in the world to climb a 5.14 trad route—a grade few climbers have achieved, male or female.

Though the film features this impressive achievement, the deeper story told is Heather’s battle to find confidence and belief in herself—in turn exposing the pervasive nature of subconscious gender roles and differences in how men and women approach love and climbing.
