Home to some of the most historic boulder problems in the world, the forest of Fontainebleau outside of Paris, France has served as a premier bouldering destination for a whopping 130 years.

Its sandstone slopers and notoriously challenging topouts offer a unique—and for newcomers, especially—challenging style to learn.

This week’s Friday Flick Pick follows Jakob Schubert and Anna Stöhr as they tackle some of Font’s most historic problems, including C’etait Demain—the area’s first 8a boulder problem. This classic line, even since its first ascent in 1984, remains a difficult and proud testpiece for some of the greatest boulderers in the world.
