On a trip last year to the infamous climbing paradise of South Africa, climbers James Pearson and Caroline Ciavaldini, found themselves on a discovery of hard and untouched trad lines. Many of the routes established on these sandstone cliffs feature unique horizontal cracks, which provide just enough protection to make big and committing moves—allowing for seemingly endless amounts of bold and beautiful traditional climbing. And that’s exactly why this year, this climbing pair is headed back for more.
