Desert Ice Climbing in Zion

This week we’re featuring an Arc’teryx and 3 Strings Productions collaborative short on an ice climbing adventure in the desert that will send chills directly up your spine. We know, we were quite confused at first. How could there be ICE climbing in the desert? It sounds absolutely terrifying— and probably because it definitely is.

Ice climbers Jesse Huey, Scott Adamson, and Angela Van Wiemeersch fearlessly embark on a mission to find and climb on desert ice in an enormous and unexplored area of Zion National Park, Utah. What they find is a massive icy venue with plenty of sketchy (and pretty damn dangerous) terrain.

Not scared or shakin’ in your boots yet? Watch to see the ice climbing terror that makes Scott Adamson declare that

Climbing routes like this is like defusing a time bomb, and you can’t walk away from it.
