As a home to over 35 sport climbing routes graded over 5.14 (including two 5.14ds), Rifle, Colorado has long held a reputation as being one of America’s hardest sport climbing destinations. Few—of the many who have attempted these routes—can say they’ve managed to put down as many of the area’s hard lines as climber Jon Caldwell.
