Food and nutrition
For any kind of alpine climb, I pretty much rely on energy food. My favorite energy food right now is the Gu Stroopwafels. They’re light (just over an ounce), 150 calories, very palatable, stay soft when its cold.
Stove-wise I’m mostly using the Windburner these days, except at really high altitudes.
#Lunch at 22,000 feet, bring your appetite or get left in the dust when climbing with #Slovenians. Here we are feasting on Chapati, raw onion, canned fish, and happy cow cheese blobs. Non processed foods (except for the cheese blobs) that balance macro nutrients are the best choices for days when you can pull into the tent and have yourself a feast. Apparel and sleeping gear
My hardshell will be in my pack. I might go with a Houdini-style jacket in really good weather … If it’s going to be windy or cold I’ll bring an M10 Jacket from Patagonia. These hardshells are so light, compact, and the fabric is so breathable.
1. 3-4 sets of hand gear (warm mittens, belay gloves, climbing gloves)
These new [Petzl] headlamps with the big rechargeable batteries are pretty incredible.
