The Rock Rehab Pyramid is a step-by-step rehabilitation and injury prevention plan designed specifically for rock climbers.
The goal of the four-phase process is to take you from the pain, inflammation and tissue overload stage to gain full mobility, strength and eventually pain-free climbing movement. It is featured in the new book by Dr. Jared Vagy DPT, Climb Injury-Free.
The Rock Rehab Pyramid
Pain, inflammation and tissue overload
Pain, inflammation and tissue overload is the first phase of the Rock Rehab Pyramid. It is typically the phase when you first realize you are injured. Oftentimes you will ignore the pain, inflammation, and overuse until you can no longer climb. The longer you stay in this phase without addressing your injury, the further you will damage your tissues and the more challenging it becomes to fully recover.
