Aralaiah has decided to go on with her teaching ‎tours in defiance of the Sorcerers. But, knowing that ‎the Sorcerers are trying to kill her is taking a toll on ‎her mental health. Red Queen is still insisting that ‎Aralaiah is Ghlent come again, which really doesn’t ‎help. ‎And, if the Sorcerers already have agents up there ‎in Dracos, how long will it be before they mount an ‎actual military assault on the place? Varen Gebit ‎doesn’t think it will be very long at all. The ‎intelligence people believe it will come before winter, ‎and Ullra Mobit is trying to get the Dragonesque ‎troops in the Lowlands recalled so they can defend ‎Dracos instead. ‎But, all that is someone else’s worry. There is ‎nothing Aralaiah and her team can do about it, so they ‎just continue with what they’re doing, teaching the ‎Dragonesque how to do better magic. ‎Meanwhile, there is a welcome distraction when ‎Draken returns with Pryn, who has come to Dracos as ‎part of the drive to recruit artisans from the Lowlands ‎to fill the gaps left by the Dragonesque artisans, who ‎are now mostly in the army. The impending invasion is ‎almost forgotten as Aralaiah, Beda and Draken set out ‎to show Pryn around Dracos City and help her ‎establish her business up there. ‎And then, Aralaiah and her team encounter a ‎badly-wounded dragon who claims to have seen ‎Sorcerers climbing the rocks towards Dracos, and the ‎war and the prospect of invasion suddenly become ‎very real and very close indeed. Did the dragon see ‎what he thought he did? And, if so, what does that ‎mean for the residents of Dracos, both human and ‎dragon?‎Join Aralaiah Sentin, Rainbow Mage and her team ‎of tutors and dragons as they continue their mission to ‎educate all Dragonesque in the new magic against a ‎backdrop of invasion that may be even more imminent ‎than anyone believes. ‎
