Dani Andrada and Edu Marin Climb Chilam Bilam (5.15b)

This November, sport climbing legends Dani Andrada and Edu Marin¬†embarked on a project of epic proportions. They dedicated themselves to achieving an ascent of¬†Chilam Bilam¬†(5.15b, 9a+/b): the legendary¬†85-meter sport route with 235 moves that spans across one of the most impressive limestone roofs ever found. This route located in Southern Spain’s Villanueva del Rosario¬†saw its first confirmed ascent in 2011 by Adam Ondra.

Full of pump-inspiring physical tufa climbing, as well as challenging technical movement on frighteningly small holds, this diverse line¬†essentially brings 3 wild routes into 1‚ÄĒmaking Chilam Bilam¬†one of the world’s most¬†spectacular lines climbed thus far. So spectacular, in fact, that it takes¬†over an hour to climb Chilam Bilam¬†from start to finish.

For me it’s one of the ten best routes in the world.
