Watch the journey of Babsi Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher on their quest to climb Bellavista (8c / 5.14b)—one of the world’s hardest alpine multi-pitch routes and first of its type at the grade.

Not only does Bellavista (located in the Dolomites) feature perhaps the largest roof in Europe, but its minimal and aged protection over loose rock make it an exceptionally heady, intimidating, and challenging line. After unsuccessfully attempting this route the previous year, this motivated duo returned and reached the summit of this majestic wall in a single push.

For me it’s the wall itself that inspires me to want to climb it, much more so than the route.
